Chichester Design: Tynt Insight – a revolutionary web tool?

08 Sep 2010

We’ve discovered a brand new web tool that can improve the performance of a business website. Tynt Insight is a marvellous invention that allows users to increase web traffic, achieve stronger search engine optimisation, measure visitor engagement and improve their brand’s profile online.

You can watch a demonstration of how it works here. Basically, if a business plugs Tynt Insight into its website it enables it to see what content is anonymously copied from the site, which allows it to benefit from the advantages I’ve listed above.

So, how does it work? Each time someone cuts and pastes content from a Tynt Insight-enabled website, the tool automatically adds a URL link back to the source. When the link is clicked it directs the user to the site to see the original article or image.

According to Tynt, using Insight can increase new visits to a website by as much as 40%, which is an incredible figure. Remember, for online businesses, link-building is incredibly important as it plays a key role in generating new visits to a website and subsequent sales leads.

The increased frequency of visits also has SEO benefits, propelling a business up the search engine rankings and making it easier for people to find it online. In addition, Insight lets content providers see what is being copied most often. Having content effectively ranked, users are able to better understand visitor engagement and develop future content accordingly.

Major newspapers, magazine sites and other online publishers are the big users so far, but I think Tynt Insight has a major role to play in the online business sector. We’ve put it to the test at Chichester Design and it has generated some fascinating information on how our content is being viewed and used.

We’ve also plugged it into one of our clients’ websites. Using Tynt Insight, the foodies at the British Larder were able to see that content was anonymously copied from their site over 3,800 times during August. This traffic generated nearly 2,300 new links and 159 new page visits.

Tynt Insight has enabled British Larder to see what content has been copied the most, which is information they’re using in the creation of new content for their website and to improve their brand’s performance.

Easy to use and generating powerful information, I think we’re going to be hearing a lot more about Tynt Insight in the coming months.
