I was talking about Google+ the other week on the Chichester Design blog and how the company is taking another shot at a social network. This time, I want to discuss another new weapon in Google’s armoury (to take on Facebook again?), Google +1.
Google +1 is a tool much like Facebook’s “Like” button that allows people to recommend places, products, services and much more. However, a major difference is that the +1 function can be applied to what Google calls the open web and the recommendations can be seen not only by family and friends, but the world in …

Client profile time again on the Chichester Design blog. This week, we’ve got a new website for Knight Fencing, one of the leading domestic and industrial gates and fencing businesses in the region, to tell you about.

As you might expect from a company that supplies and installs a wide range of gates and fencing, a strong visual approach to showcasing their product range was important. What is clear is that mobile internet use is being adopted at an incredible rate, much faster than that in the past for desktop
internet access. According to the Internet Advertising Bureau, the UK mobile advertising market was worth £83 million in 2010, up by 113% over 2000. Morgan Stanley estimates that by 2020, there …

I popped along to a special event at the brand new Courtyard offices in Chichester on Thursday. The gathering was co-hosted by
the South Coast Design Forum (SCDF), the Chichester Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Royal Institute of British Architects.
The new office spaces at Vinnetrow Business Park were impressive and the large amount of natural light was a feature that stood out for me. Mark Hooper, from Kingsbridge Estates, the owners of the premises, and a representative from the architects involved in the project explained the thinking behind the design of the building. Aside from the …
