I read an interesting article in the Guardian the other day that made me think I should get back to basics on the Chichester Design blog – what makes a good business website. I think every business is aware that it must have an online presence in today’s market, but we’ve come to a point where a static website just doesn’t cut the mustard.
One of the tips for creating a successful website mentioned in the article is to regularly update your website content and it’s one I think is worth flagging up. Adding fresh content will keep visitors coming …

I mentioned in my last blog that web videos are expected to be a key business tool in 2011. Why? Well, because interactive website content is becoming increasingly important, not at least in terms of making companies more visible online.

Next in Chichester Design’s What We Do series is branding. So, what’s in a brand? Well, I’d say everything. Just ask the people at Apple or Ferrari. Or Gap for that matter. They spent an awful lot of money on a new logo, but consumers didn’t like it. No problem, they went back to the familiar and all-powerful original.
The moment a potential client lands on your website, picks up your brochure or looks up at your banner at an exhibition, your branding goes into action. And if you’ve got it right, it starts to earn money for you …
