Google adds Motorola muscle to fight against Apple

20 Sep 2011

Motorola LogoSo, Google has bought mobile phone company Motorola Mobility for US$12.5 billion. What does that mean for you and me on the street? Well, I think it means that Google is stepping up its battle with Apple. I also think the move will accelerate the take-up of mobile browsing in general.

I’ve mentioned before that mobile browsing is fast growing in popularity – it is forecast by some to overtake PC browsing in the next five years – and I think that Google’s acquisition of Motorola will help drive this growth and maybe even accelerate it. It also makes mobile

Chichester Design: battle for online payment service provision heats up

22 Feb 2011

I think most of us thought the idea of putting online content behind a pay wall was a dead duck, a great act of folly that would finally usher Rupert Murdoch into retirement. 15 May 2009

First Facebook made a bid and then Google stuck their ore in and now it seems that Apple is giving it a shot.  What am I talking about? Getting a piece of Twitter of course!

Chichester Design for one is aware of the joys that Twitter brings to the world of social networking and it’s one of our favourite marketing devices. But, when it comes to online successes such as this there has been a long history of muscling in from the big boys who want to get their fingers in all the pies.  Opinions are divided on this and
