I’ve mentioned the growth of social media marketing in this blog before, but the fact that I’ve read a lot recently about how more and more businesses are using Facebook to promote themselves means it warrants some further discussion.

I’ve just been planning a weekend away in Yorkshire for a family wedding and I’ve been really surprised at the poor standard of websites for the kind of places I want to stay at (a low-key, yet comfortable and modern, stylish if at all possible, guest house or B&B).
Most of the websites I’ve looked at have put me off right away: poor information, hard to navigate, low-quality pictures and a generally uninspiring feel. All of which says to me: don’t stay here!
