Google has made a major change to how consumers see local businesses online and how local businesses interact with these consumers: it has replaced Google Places with Google+ Local. Expanding the use of Google+ is the target but all the same, it’s a smart move by the company.

I read an interesting article in the Guardian the other day that made me think I should get back to basics on the Chichester Design blog – what makes a good business website. I think every business is aware that it must have an online presence in today’s market, but we’ve come to a point where a static website just doesn’t cut the mustard.

Google certainly seems to think that it is and who can disagree when all you have to do is look around you. When Chichester Design was at the #TFMA conference at Earls Court2 London a few weeks back all we could see were people fiddling with their smart phones when they were on the tube, queuing to watch talks or sitting in the networking bar.
